Eastleigh nursery raises money for charity with sponsored walk

Children at Yellow Dot Fair Oak Nursery in Eastleigh recently raised more than £200 for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children by taking part in a sponsored walk.

Inspired by Nursery Manager Clare Ashton, who raised just over £500 for the foundation with a half marathon earlier this year, the children embraced the walk which they completed as a group.

“Clare completed her first half marathon last weekend and raised just over £500 for the foundation,” said Emily Harris, Bright Horizons Foundation Development Manager. “Congratulations Clare and thank you so much everyone for your support.”

Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis.  They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.

The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
