Children at Bright Horizons Phoenix Day Nursery a Preschool in Brentwood recently took part in a forest school sessions that was held on Saturday 31st March.

“It was a very successful event, both children and parents had lots of fun and found all seven activities very interesting,” said Nursery Manager Sarah Jane Smith. “Our forest school staff and management team worked very hard in setting all the different areas up and Candy Floss (Bright Horizons’ health and safety mascot) made an appearance to ensure everyone was safe.”

Forest school is an inspirational concept providing learning opportunities through practical activities in an outdoor environment. Children enjoy the freedom to explore and experience the natural world in all seasons and in all weathers. Forest school embraces an approach of nurturing, supporting and developing the self-esteem of participants. It is an ideal environment in which to develop innovation, problem solving, risk taking, creativity and teamwork.
