Reigate children celebrate Chinese New Year

Date: 13 Feb 2019

Children at Bright Horizons Reigate Day Nursery and Preschool recently enjoyed learning more about Chinese New Year.

The children looked specifically at Chinese writing before finding the letters for their names and practicing forming the symbols. They also worked together to make a Chinese dragon and performed a dragon dance as a whole group.

“The children demonstrated great concentration and were able to notice how the letters were different,” said Nursery Manager Louise Peek. “As it is the Year of the Pig, we have been using a variety of creative resources to make our own pig pictures. The children looked at pictures of pigs for inspiration and carefully chose the resources, using colour for a purpose and explaining their creations in detail.”
