Cirencester nursery receives Good rating from Ofsted

Bright Horizons Stepping Stones Nursery in Cirencester has been rated ‘Good’ after its recent Ofsted inspection.

The nursery received its inspection on October 12th and was rated as ‘Good’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare and Outcomes for children.

Inspection activities included the observing the quality of teaching both during indoor and outdoor activities and the impact this had on children’s learning. Comments from the report included:

  • The provider and new management team have a strong drive to improve the quality of the nursery provision. Since the last inspection, they have developed a shared vision and high aspirations for the nursery. They undertake regular evaluation and have made secure improvements, and identified new areas they wish to develop, to enhance the nursery further.
  • The friendly, caring staff are enthusiastic and welcoming. Children and babies are happy, have a strong sense of belonging and are emotionally secure.
  • Children make good progress from their starting points. Staff provide an interesting environment for children to explore their own interest and share ideas for activities to try at home with parents.
“We are pleased the improvements we have made have been recognised in this positive Ofsted report,” said Nursery Manager Lindsay Osman. “We will always strive for further improvements as we move forward and are pleased with the progress we are making.”
