Bright Horizons programme shortlisted for prestigious award

Bright Horizons’ Room Leader Programme, organised by the Professional Development Department, has been shortlisted for NMT’s (Nursery Management Today) Nursery Manager 2018 Award.
Louisa Devenport (Professional Development Consultant) and Gemma Pawson (Head of Professional Development) have been shortlisted on behalf of the programme alongside four other nominations. The winners of the NMT Nursery Awards 2018 will be presented with their trophies by Gethin Jones at the high profile Gala Night held on Saturday 1st December, at the London Hilton Metropole.
The programme is aimed at aspiring room leaders, as well as room leaders in post, and enables staff to understand their role as a leader at Bright Horizons whilst developing their professional skills, knowledge and capabilities that enable them to lead others in delivering exceptional quality care and education.
This programme consists of a blended learning approach and comprises of three face-to-face learning sessions, two webinars and independent learning via eLearning modules. Throughout the programme, delegates will be working towards the following programme objectives:
- Recognising their critical role to embed the H.E.A.R.T Principles and Mission in Motion within the organisation
- Embedding high quality practice and role model professional behaviour to meet the needs of all children, families and carers
- Enhancing their team’s performance through constructive use of motivational, inspirational and influential skills
- Facilitating meaningful conversations and purposeful meetings with staff and parents to improve outcomes for children
“Room leaders play a fundamental role within our organisation and we want to invest in them to be the very best room leader and to develop individuals on their leadership journey,” said Devonport. “Delegates apply for the programme through completing an application form which in endorsed by their line manager.”
About the Awards
NMT Nursery Awards 2018 is an annual event organised by Nursery Management Today, the leading business publication in the nursery sector and sponsored by key companies providing services in the sector. The Awards are designed to reward excellence in childcare and celebrate the very best people in the Nursery Sector. There were 17 categories to enter overall and there were four or five finalists in each category. All finalists will meet with three independent judges for each category on 19th October at the Awards’ Judging Day at the Hilton London Metropole.
