Islington nursery receives ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted
Date: 12 Nov 2018
Bright Horizons Floral Place Day Nursery and Preschool in Islington has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ after receiving its recent Ofsted inspection.
The nursery received its inspection on September 27th and was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare; Outcomes for children. The ‘Outstanding’ is also an improvement on the ‘Good’ rating the nursery last received from Ofsted four years ago.
Inspection activities included the inspector observing the interactions between staff and children as they engaged together in activities. Comments from the Ofsted report included:
- The quality of teaching and interactions between the staff and children is remarkable. The manager and her team have created a stimulating environment where children have the freedom to become independent learners.
- Children are extremely happy, secure and settled. They demonstrate high levels of confidence and have wonderful relationships with the staff.
- Meticulous observation and assessment of children helps staff to quickly identify those who may require additional support, and highly effective plans are implemented immediately. All children are developing exceptionally well in all areas.
Nursery Manager, Emma Chappell, commented: “I have always known the team at Floral Place were a dedicated, compassionate and inspiring group of childcare practitioners. Their love for the children in their care and motivation to want the best, has always been the foundation of this nursery. To finally say we achieved ‘Outstanding’ gives me so much joy. We are delighted and I couldn’t be any prouder of them.”
