Teddington nursery receives ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted
Date: 12 Nov 2018
Bright Horizons Asquith Teddington Pre-School and Day Nursery has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ after receiving its recent Ofsted inspection.
The nursery received its inspection on September 10th and was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare; Outcomes for children. The ‘Outstanding’ is also an improvement on the ‘Good’ rating the nursery last received from Ofsted four years ago.
Inspection activities included the inspector observing the interactions between staff and children during both indoor and outdoor play. Comments from the Ofsted report included:
- The manager has a strong understanding of what the setting excels at and where there is potential to improve even further. She is forward thinking, inspirational and leads staff who are passionately committed to high-quality care and education for children.
- Children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities thrive in this stimulating environment. Staff go on specialist training to reflect the needs of individual children, to help ensure that children progress.
- Partnerships with parents are exemplary. The manager and staff regularly share information with parents and work highly effectively with them to ensure learning at home informs children’s individualised planning.
Nursery Manager, Sarah Humphrys, commented: “We are so proud of our ‘Outstanding’ judgement in our recent inspection, the team, parents and children have accomplished so much within the past five years, it is an achievement for all.”
