Date: 25 Sep 2018
Bright Horizons St Mary’s Day Nursery and Preschool in Hulme, Manchester has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ after receiving its recent Ofsted inspection.
The nursery received its inspection on September 4th and was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare; Outcomes for children. The ‘Outstanding’ is also an improvement on the ‘Good’ rating the nursery received from Ofsted two years ago.
Inspection activities included the inspector observing the quality of teaching during activities both indoors and outdoors, and assessing the impact this had on children’s learning. Comments from the Ofsted report included:
- The excellent partnership with parents supports children to thrive at this nursery. Staff have a deep understanding of children and their family circumstances and offer exceptional support and guidance to parents.
- Children excitedly arrive at the nursery. They part from their parents with ease and immediately settle into playing with their friends. Staff demonstrate high levels of warmth towards children in their care. Children are very happy and are extremely confident.
- Staff value the uniqueness of each child and ensure the promotion of equality and diversity is central to their work.
Nursery Manager, Stephanie Ruddock, commented: “We are delighted to receive an ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted.
