Edinburgh nursery children embrace Creative Cooks Week
Date: 11 Sep 2018
Children at Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis Early Learning and Childcare in Edinburgh have enjoyed a week full of cooking activities after taking part in Creative Cooks Week at the nursery.
They children enjoyed fruit and vegetable printing, whilst they also tasted a variety of different foods throughout the week. They had the opportunity for exploration of seeds found inside the fruits and vegetables as they made their own snack and used these seeds to plant.
“”The staff have gathered many observations from experiences that have taken place this week and have noticed that as well as developing the children’s understanding on health and wellbeing, they have also linked in growing scientists, growing mathematics, growing readers and writers and growing up healthy to many of the activities,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Kate Hubbert.
Bright Horizons’ Creative Cooks enhancement aims to encourage creativity in cooking.
