Reigate children enhance number knowledge and recognition
Date: 08 Aug 2018
Children at Bright Horizons Reigate Day Nursery and Preschool have been showing an interest in numbers and counting.
Outside in the garden, the children discovered a number pad to develop their recognition of numbers. They then counted the spots under each number to find out the number written, before jumping onto the number.
“They used their personal, social and emotional skills to help each other and continued this play themselves by encouraging each other to find different numbers,” said Nursery Manager Louise Peek.
The activity was part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Mathematicians enhancement which aims to emphasise the importance of mathematics in everyday life.
