Basingstoke nursery receives Good rating from Ofsted
Date: 27 Jul 2018
Bright Horizons Basingstoke Day Nursery and Preschool has been rated ‘Good’ after its most recent Ofsted inspection.
The nursery received its inspection on May 31st and was rated as ‘Good’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare and Outcomes for children.
Inspection activities included the inspector observing practice and staff’s interactions with children and assessed the impact this has on their learning. Comments from the report included:
- Babies and children develop strong emotional attachments with their key person. They are happy and well settled, and demonstrate high levels of emotional security and self-esteem. Care practices are effective and contribute to children’s good health and well-being.
- Partnerships with parents are strong. Staff keep them informed and involve them in their children’s learning. Parents feel valued and give high praise for the attentive and supportive staff team.
- Transitions to school are well supported. For instance, staff invite teachers to visit the children at the nursery. They share information with them when children are due to start at school to ensure continuity of learning, including those learning English as an additional language. All children make good progress.
“We are pleased that key partnerships between staff and children have been highlighted in our latest positive Ofsted report which proves our commitment in providing exceptional care and education,” said Nursery Manager Nikki Paine. “We will continue to build on this and strive for further excellence in making more improvements as we moved forward.”
