Livingston children build water structure for play
Date: 02 May 2018
Children at Bright Horizons Livingston Early Learning and Childcare nursery recently built their own water structure for playing with.
The children now use the structure to pour water down the guttering followed by different objects. Using the structure also enhances the children’s problem solving skills.
“They put different rubber ducks down in numerical order to see which ones went the fastest and which ones went the slowest,” said Nursery Manager Jackie Simpson. “They then filled small plastic eggs with different weighted objects to see if they would slide down freely or if they would need a push. Lastly, the children investigated which boat was best suited to the water, paper, cardboard or plastic.”
