Church Crookham nursery organises Gruffalo walk for charity
Date: 23 May 2018
Children at Bright Horizons Church Crookham Day Nursery and Preschool in Fleet, Hampshire recently took part in a Gruffalo walk to raise money for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
Families and staff came together to take part in the walk along the trail to find all of the characters from The Gruffalo book. A total of £80.43 was raised for the foundation.
“The children enjoyed telling the staff and parents who they could see and had their photos taken with the Gruffalo himself,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Abi Culver. “It was a really lovely day where parents and staff could spend some time together and raise some money for a fantastic cause. We are so grateful to everyone who attended.”
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.
The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
