Fulham nursery children embrace new mud kitchen

Date: 21 Mar 2018

Children at Bright Horizons Active Learning Fulham nursery have been busy playing outdoors in their new mud kitchen.

The children have been enjoying playing with mud and water, whilst developing their physical, social and emotional skills at the same time.

“Mud kitchens offer the perfect opportunity to connect with the natural world and learn through exploring and experimenting,” said Nursery Manager Paola Testoni.

Mud kitchens provide many benefits for young children including through personal and social development as a result of giggling after the mud moves. They can also improve communication and language as the children use words to play in and describe the mud. A mud kitchen can also aid physical development, as the children use their hands to make marks in the mud.
