Reading nursery children make edible boats
Date: 02 Feb 2018
Children at Bright Horizons Waterside Day Nursery and Preschool in Reading have been making their own edible boats, as part of the organisation’s Creative Cooks enhancement.
The children have been very interested in boats and how they sail and float. They made their boats using apples, cheese and rice crispies.
“They have learned how adding lemon juice to the apple will stop the apple from discolouring,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Sarah Ross. “They have been learning about shapes and halves and have all helped to cut their cheese sails into triangles for their boats too.”
