Cambridge nursery organises items for local refuge
Date: 08 Jan 2018
Bright Horizons Wolfson Court Day Nursery and Preschool in Cambridge recently hosted its own “Brightening Lives” activity organised by the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
The activity saw staff collect baby essentials at the nursery, with the support of parents, to create hampers that will go to the local Cambridgeshire refuge.
“Staff came together and enjoyed a morning of packing boxes and getting creative with the beautiful baby bundles,” said Nursery Manager Michela Clements. “Sixteen hampers were made for the refuge.”
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.
The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
