Children at Bright Horizons at 44 St Swithin Nursery in Aberdeen celebrated Burns Night last week by taking part in a variety of themed activities.
The children made their own tartan paintings and also weaved paper to create a tartan effect. They also baked their own traditional Scottish shortbread and had a tasting session of haggis.
“The children have been very patriotic throughout this week,” said Nursery Manager Vicky Bowman. “The children helped prepare the haggis and it was the first time many of our children have ever seen or tasted haggis. We also had a tartan walk to our local wooded area during the week in which they children came to nursery in tartan clothing. We used this as an opportunity to raise awareness of the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children and parents were very generous as they made a donation in order to sponsor us on our tartan walk.”
