Fleet nursery children embrace icy weather

Date: 11 Jan 2018

Children at Bright Horizons Fleet Day Nursery and Preschool in Hampshire have been making the most of the frosty weather by using ice in an art exercise.

Staff collected ice from the garden, place into a black tray and then squirted paints into the tray. The children were then given the opportunity to explore with paint brushes as part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Artists enhancement, which encourages creativity in art.

“The ice melted as the paint was put onto it,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Natalie Harvey. “Different colours were made as they were mixed together.”
