Bright Horizons Asquith Salcombe Day Nursery and Pre-School in London has been rated ‘Good’ after its most recent Ofsted inspection.

The nursery received its inspection on October 31st and was rated as ‘Good’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare; Outcomes for children.

Inspection activities included the inspectors observing the quality of teaching during activities both indoors and outdoors and assessing the impact this had on children’s learning. Comments from the report included:

  • All children benefit from the varied programme of activities, including outdoor experiences. Staff consider children’s particular interests and their preferred learning environment when deciding on the experiences to offer children.
  • Parents speak highly of the nursery. They value the very good communication and information sharing about their children’s learning. Parents say they trust the staff and that their children have very good relationships with many members of the team.
  • The management team provides very good support to the staff. They promote training opportunities to help staff develop their skills and understanding of a wide variety of practice issues. The team reports feeling supported and encouraged to do its best by managers.

“We are pleased the variety of programmes on offer at our nursery has been recognised in this positive Ofsted report,” said Nursery Manager Libby Williams. “We will continue to strive for excellence and make further improvements as we moved forward.”
