Children at Bright Horizons Fleet Day Nursery and Preschool in Hampshire recently made their own Christingles.

The children picked up cloves and pushed them into oranges, in turn developing their fine motor skills as they used a pincer grip to push them in. They then unwrapped candles and pushed them into the oranges.

“We discussed the textures of the orange and how it smelt,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Natalie Harvey. “As we pushed the candles in, we noticed that lots of juice came out of the oranges.”
