Edinburgh nursery hosts Christmas open day

Date: 15 Dec 2017

Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis Early Learning and Childcare nursery in Edinburgh hosted its Christmas open day this past Saturday, helping everyone get into the festive spirit.

The children in attendance received a visit from Santa, whilst there was also various themed stalls, a raffle and tombola. Creative activities were also set up for the children to take part in such as biscuit decorating and Christmas card making.

“We had a great turn out and raised £531.61 for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Kate Hubbert.

Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis.  They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.

The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
