Children at Bright Horizons Oxford Waterways Day Nursery and Preschool have been comparing their fruit tastes after reading “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” story.
The children compared the tastes of banana and apple whilst also creating their own hungry caterpillar stories, which saw them match the number of fruits with digits.
“The children used their nursery books to tell their stories to their friends which inspired them to also make a fruit salad,” said Sylvie Ellier-Bogue, nursery manager. “During the process we all learned the importance of food hygiene and how to use a knife correctly.”
