Kenilworth children visit local pumpkin farm
Date: 20 Oct 2017
Children at Bright Horizons Kenilworth Day Nursery and Preschool recently visited a local pumpkin farm.
The children viewed a range of different sized, shaped and coloured pumpkins as they searched to find the biggest one on the farm. They also practiced their counting skills before searching for health and safety mascot Candy Floss who has hidden in several locations around the farm.
“The children were excited to travel by coach and had talked about how to be safe when travelling and the importance of wearing seatbelts,” said Nursery Manager Lisa Vicary. “At the end of the trip the children all chose their own pumpkin and paid the lady at the farm using their money. The nursery chef Richard then used one of the pumpkins to make homemade pumpkin pies and pumpkin soup which the children all enjoyed very much.”
