Children at Bright Horizons Asquith Wavendon Pre-school and Day Nursery recently took part in a science experiment which saw them create explosive apples.

Once the apples were opened, the children used ingredients including bicarbonate of soda to create a mini explosion. The exercise was part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Scientists enhancement.

“The children thoroughly enjoyed the experiment and were excited to watch on as the mini explosion occurred in front of them,” said Jane Bland, nursery manager.

The Growing Scientists enhancement aims to help children identify scientific activities that occur in their everyday lives.
