Livingston children embrace gardening programme
Date: 03 Aug 2017
Children at Bright Horizons Livingston Nursery and Preschool have been busy planting as part of the organisation’s Green Gardeners enhancement.
The children have planted broad beans in pots after sifting through the soil. They will now watch them grow as they continue to water the pots. Shrubs have also been planted in planters on Robins Lane close to the nursery.
“They helped carry the plants and raked the soil, clearing any weeds before digging small holes to put the plants in,” said Nursery Manager Karen Bell. “All the children in the nursery enjoy walks to visit the planters and observe any changes in the plants.”Bright Horizons’ Green Gardeners enhancement aims to provide children with the opportunity to interact with the natural world around them.
