Englefield children discover food colouring

Date: 05 Jun 2017

Children at Bright Horizons Englefield Green Nursery and Preschool in Egham, Surrey have recently discovered food colouring after making a jug of water more colourful.

The children poured water into a clear jug and added drops of food colouring to the solution. They then gave it a mix and watched as the water turned green.

“The children then had lots of fun splashing around with the solution in the water tray,” said Charlotte Martin, acting deputy nursery manager. “The activity was a great to continue the Growing Scientists enhancement.”

Bright Horizons’ Growing Scientists enhancement aims to help children identify scientific activities that occur in their everyday lives.
