Children at Edinburgh nursery plant cress seeds

Date: 06 Apr 2017

Children at Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis Nursery and Preschool in Edinburgh have been taking full advantage of the use of their indoor garden, as part of the organisation’s Green Gardeners enhancement.

The children planted grass and cress seeds before making their own ‘keep off’ signs in order to keep everyone safe. They will continue to watch over the plants and look after them in the forthcoming weeks as they monitor the growth.

“The children always show an appetite for planting exercises,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Kate Hubbert. “They will be sure to give the seeds the correct amount of water and light to ensure they grow properly.”

The Green Gardeners enhancement aims to provide children with opportunities to interact with the natural world around them.
