Crewe children practice writing their names

Date: 04 Apr 2017

Children at Bright Horizons Crewe Day Nursery and Preschool have been developing their early reading and writing skills by studying the letters that make up their names.

The children practiced writing their names with a focus on the shape and wording of the letters used in the formation. The exercise was part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Writers enhancement.

“As part of our Ready for School programme, it’s important that the children continue to enhance their reading and writing skills,” said Nursery Manager Claire Chadwick. “We are delighted with the knowledge they portrayed when coming to conclusions about the letters in their names.”

The Growing Writers enhancement aims to support a child on their magical journey to become a creative writer.
