Children at Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool recently grew flowers in time to give as presents to their mothers for Mothering Sunday.

The children planted seeds into pots the week before Mother’s Day and watered them each day as the shoots continued to grow. The activity was also part of the Bright Horizons Green Gardeners enhancement.

“They also made Mother’s Day cards, creating their own interpretations of daffodils onto cards using a real life bunch of daffodils for inspiration as they made their creations,” said Nursery Manager Sarah Read.

The Green Gardeners enhancement aims to provide children with opportunities to interact with the natural world around them.
