Edinburgh nursery children write their names in sand
Date: 21 Mar 2017
Children at Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis Nursery and Preschool in Edinburgh recently took part in a new challenge to enhance both their reading and writing skills.
The children were asked to select their own names from a basket and they write their name, letter by letter, in the sand. The activity was part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Writers enhancement.
“We really pleased with the children’s application to the task,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Kate Hubbert. “They were proud of their results as they produced their own names in the sand.”
The Growing Writers enhancement aims to support a child on their magical journey to become a creative writer.
