Bumpers children decorate forest school

Date: 01 Mar 2017

Children at Bright Horizons Bumpers Day Nursery and Preschool in Burnaston, Derbyshire have been busy decorating their forest school and tidying it up after recent weather havoc.

The children worked as a team to clear up the outdoor learning area after the mess made by recent wind and rain. At the same time, they looked for bugs and made patterns in the soil with twigs and leaves. They also made bunting to hang from the trees and decorated CDs to place on the branches.

“We thank the children for their hard work in decorating our forest school once more,” said Nursery Manager Juli Walker-Jones. “Their hard work was rewarded with a mug of hot chocolate and two of their favourite stories.”

Forest schools are outdoor learning environments that offer children the opportunity to engage with the rich, natural diversity of woodland areas.
