Children at Annandale Nursery in Edinburgh recently visited a local park to put their running interests to the test.
Staff recently noticed a lot of the children taking up running in the nursery garden and decided to take them to a nearby racetrack at the park. The children practiced running races by competing against each other, in an exercise part of Bright Horizons Growing Athletes enhancement.
“The children had been really interested in running in the garden area. As it is too small to do this safely, we decided to visit a local park which has a racetrack,” said Nursery Manager Jane Chandler. “The children practiced running really fast and very slow, comparing the difference, understanding the science of it.”
