Barnes children create health and safety checklist
Date: 14 Feb 2017
Children at Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool recently created their own health and safety checklist at the nursery after observing a carer fill out a similar form.
Bright Horizons health and safety mascot Candy Floss was present to observe the children create the checklist and discuss the word “hazard” which the children defined as ‘something dangerous’ according to Nursery Manager Lorna Meese.
“They went around the room carrying out their risk assessment and looked at the safety in the room, such as chairs being tucked in and toys tidied away,” said Meese. “Safety remains at the forefront of our programme and we are very proud of the children for taking things into their own hands by creating their own list.”
