Children at Bright Horizons Stourton First Direct Nursery and Preschool in Leeds have raised more than £400 for the organisation’s foundation, after taking part in a sponsored bike ride.

The bike ride had a special superhero theme which saw the children dress up in their favoured costumes to complete the bike ride. The initiative raised a total of £449.90 for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.

“The children had transformed t-shirts into superhero capes at home and wore them during the bike ride,” said Nursery Manager Gail Jones “We had some brilliant capes and masks.”

Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis.  They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.

The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
