Rosehill children make mince pies

Date: 04 Jan 2017

Children at Bright Horizons Rosehill Day Nursery and Preschool in Cheltenham have been making mice pies, in an exercise part of the Creative Cooks programme.

Jackie, the nursery chef, assisted the children in making the mince pies. They discussed the ingredients needed to make them and helped to weigh them all out correctly. The children made their own pastry by mixing the ingredients, talking through the process piece by piece as they went.

“Jackie then took the mince pies to be cooked and the children then ate them as part of their party tea in the afternoon,” said Nursery Manager Sarah Jones.

Bright Horizons’ Creative Cooks programme encourages children to be creative in cooking.
