Celebrating a Good Ofsted inspection at Footsteps Nursery and Preschool

Bright Horizons Footsteps Day Nursery and Preschool in Farnborough has been rated ‘Good’ after its most recent Ofsted inspection.

The nursery received its inspection on December 19th and was rated as ‘Good’ in three areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Outcomes for children. The nursery was also graded as ‘Outstanding’ in the area of personal development, behaviour and welfare.

Inspection activities included the inspector observing care routines and teaching, and the effect of these on children’s development and learning. Comments in the report included the following:

  • Staff have a robust knowledge of the action to take should they have any concerns about a child’s welfare or protection. They are alert to potential risks to children as they explore their wider community and diligently follow detailed policies and procedures for safeguarding and welfare.

  • Staff plan and provide a vibrant, secure and exciting nursery indoors and outside where children are very happy and keen to explore, investigate and be imaginative.

  • Children thrive as they make healthy choices about the food they eat and learn how to balance treats and nutrition. They are inspired by rich ‘hands-on’ experiences such as when the chef filleted a fish and they helped him turn it into fish fingers.

I’m delighted the hard of all of the staff has been recognised in our latest Ofsted report,” said Nursery Manager Tara Gatford. “We will continue to reflect on our practice to ensure we are constantly providing the best learning environment for the children in our care and seek to make further improvements as such as we move forward.”
