Wandsworth children use books for activity inspiration

Children at Bright Horizons Wandsworth Common Day Nursery and Preschool have recently been using details from their favourite books as inspiration for other activities.

In the preschool room, the children grouped and counted different animals that they saw in a maths book. The babies also made their own fish tank from sensory materials, while the toddlers created their own pond filled with ducks.

“The children have been paying close attention to the details in the books they read and were keen to put them action,” said Ditta Kankulya, nursery manager. “We were delighted with their grasp of the numbers, words and pictures they came across when putting them into their own activities.”
