Timperley children excited by television coverage
Date: 19 Dec 2016
Children at Bright Horizons Timperley Day Nursery and Preschool in Cheshire were excited to be filmed by television cameras earlier this week, as they visited a local care home for elderly residents with dementia.
The children were filmed by Granada Reports of ITV News as they visited the residents of Allingham House. The visit benefitted the children in learning how to relate and embrace others whilst having a positive attitude towards them. It also helped to develop the children’s confidence and nurtured their social and emotional development.
The trip was broadcasted on Granada Reports on December 13th.
“I felt it was an amazing experience for everyone involved, it showed how the children are learning to develop mutual respect for others from such a young age,” said Amy Johnston, preschool room leader. “It was exciting to be filmed and interviewed and although we were relatively nervous at first, it went extremely smoothly. The staff and children didn’t seem fazed by the filming taking place. It was a lovely morning and I am glad we shared this with everyone.”
One child, Dylan, said the trip “made him feel happy. I like going to play at Allingham House,”
Kya also said the outing was fun and “the camera was big and had a big light on it.”
