Children at Bright Horizons Talbot Woods Day Nursery and Preschool in Poole have been raising money for the organisation’s foundation, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, through a rainbow mufti day held each month.
This month green was chosen as staff, parents and children dressed up in different shades of the colour. Parents were made aware of what the foundation does, with £52 being raised on the day.
On the same day, a cake sale was also held for a Macmillan Cancer Support with an additional £102 being raised.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who dressed in green, baked and donated to two charities close to our hearts,” said Nursery Manager Jane Gordon.
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.
The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
