Oxford nursery launches its own Forest School
Date: 24 Nov 2016
Bright Horizons Oxford Business Park Day Nursery has launched its very own Forest School aimed at helping children to explore the great outdoors.
Staff running the school are fully trained and activities within will be led by the interest of the children themselves. Activities will include building dens, exploring the natural environment, cooking over small fires and hunting for insects.
“The children are having fun and will continue to do so as they enjoy more Forest School activities,” said Nursery Manager Jayne Andrews. “They have already set up the camp for the school.”
Research has found that children that are stimulated by the outdoors, typically experience, over time, an increase in their self-belief, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, communication and problem-solving skills and emotional well-being.
