Heron Quays children embrace singing activity

Date: 21 Nov 2016

Children at Bright Horizons Heron Quays Day Nursery and Preschool in Canary Wharf have been practising and enhancing their singing skills in recent days.

Earlier this month, children aged between a year and 2 years old took park in a song time circle prior to lunch. The children in the Bumblebee 1 room at the nursery sang “Baa Baa Black Sheep” and “Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” led by staff member Agnes Belden.

The children clapped after they sung each song and were asked to point to each of their head, shoulders, knees and toes.

“Circle time is a time that enables the children to get calm before lunch,” said Amy Stewart, room leader and third in charge at the nursery. “They always enjoy singing different songs.”

The children were then served a pasta Bolognese for lunch, with vegetarian options available.

The nursery offers care for children aged between 3 months and 5 years old and is just a short walk from Canary Wharf tube station. It also offers a hair salon for children on Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm.
