Englefield children make poppy biscuits for Remembrance Day
Date: 17 Nov 2016
Children at Bright Horizons Englefield Green Nursery and Preschool in Egham, Surrey have made their own poppy biscuits to coincide with Remembrance Day, in an exercise also part of the Creative Cooks programme.
Each of the children also wore their own poppies last Friday and took part in a minute of silence to show respect to those who served in war.
“The children loved making their own poppies, particularly with it being Remembrance Day,” said Sarah Johnston, deputy nursery manager. “It is an occasion close to our hearts and all of the children were keen to show their respect by taking part in the minute’s silence.”
Bright Horizons’ Creative Cooks programme encourages children to be creative in cooking.
