Children at Bright Horizons Dolphin Kingston Nursery and Preschool in Kingston upon Thames recently visited Garsons farm where they collected a number of fresh goods.
The children picked fresh strawberries, French beans and pumpkins, the latter of which they carved upon their return to the nursery. They also helped to make pumpkin soup as part of the Creative Cooks programme and cut the French beans which were then cooked for tea.
“The farm visit was a great opportunity for the children to explore the great outdoors and get some hands-on experience of picking the fresh produce,” Nursery Manager Jasmina Haigh said. “We are hopeful they will use similar ingredients as part of their meals at home.”
Bright Horizon’s Creative Cooks programme encourages children to be creative in cooking.
