Court Oak children study autumn leaves through sensory play
Date: 24 Nov 2016
Toddlers at Bright Horizons Court Oak Kindergarten in Harborne, Birmingham have been studying the texture of autumn leaves through a sensory play activity.
The children collected the leaves from outside and placed them inside bowls where they then looked at the textures and characteristics. Staff also led a discussion on the colour of the leaves and why they fall from the trees at this time of year.
“The children were fascinated in learning more about the changing colour of the leaves and why that happens,” said Nursery Manager June Price. “The staff team really enjoyed helping them learn more about the changing in seasons throughout the year.”
