Children at Bright Horizons Chelsea Day Nursery and Preschool were visited by an army officer last week for Remembrance Day.
The officer explained the history of the poppy to the children whilst explaining the meaning behind Remembrance Day and the importance of remembering those who served in the war.
The children also presented a poppy that they had made themselves to the officer and created a display within the nursery with lots of pictures and information to demonstrate their understanding of Remembrance Day.
“The children were very proud to make their own poppy for Remembrance Day,” said Chelsea Garratt, nursery manager. “They were keen to ask the army officer a lot of questions and we are very grateful to him for visiting our nursery.”
