Children at Bright Horizons Timperley Day Nursery and Preschool in Cheshire have been embracing the organisation’s Green Gardeners programme by growing pots of cress.
In recent weeks the children have been spending time looking after their cress, by watering the pots daily and ensuing each one gets the required amount of sunlight. They all monitored the rate at which it grew out of the soil and top of the pot.
“The children have enjoyed learning about what it takes to grow plants such as cress,” said Nursery Manager Janette Schenk. “This was a great way to continue our Green Gardeners programme."
