Harvest festival has begun at Abbeymore Nursery in Reading and the children have been learning more about the tradition.
The children picked up the importance of the festival and a successful harvest commonly referred to as ‘food grown from the ground.’
Each of them drew pictures of wheat, combine harvesters and tractors as part of the Growing Artists programme. They also spent time making their own bread, which was aligned with the Creative Cooks programme.
“The children really enjoyed learning more about harvest festival and the importance of it, particularly growing our own food,” said Sally Newell, nursery manager. “We look forward to more activities as the festival continues.”
