Chester children make their own bread
Date: 29 Sep 2016
Children at Bright Horizons Countess of Chester Day Nursery and Preschool have learned how to make their own bread, as part of the organisation’s Creative Cooks programme.
The children took inspiration from the book “Zed’s Bread” and went on to make their own, after learning about the different ingredients used as part of a recipe. The reading of the recipe also incorporated Bright Horizons’ Growing Readers and Growing Mathematicians programmes.
Parents were invited to take home bread treats after drop-off and pick-up.
“The children were very excited to learn how to make the bread,” said Nursery Manager Eileen Morrey. “The enjoyed the idea of independence in making their own food, something we are keen to give them more opportunities of.”
