Children become string painters at Wishing Willow
Date: 18 Aug 2016
Preschool children at Bright Horizons Wishing Willow Day Nursery and Preschool in Banstead have been studying the work of Vincent Van Gogh, as part of the organisation’s Growing Artists programme.
The children looked at some of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings including “Starry Night” and “Sunflowers” as well as the different techniques the artist used. They then recreated their own paintings using those different techniques.
“The children were really interested in Van Gogh’s work,” said Nursery Manager Rageena Abbas. “We were delighted they were able to study and then put into practice his techniques and the activity was a great way to continue the Growing Artists programme.”
Bright Horizons’ Growing Artists programme aims to encourage children to be creative in art.
