Richmond children explore solar system

Date: 16 Aug 2016

Children at Bright Horizons Richmond Day Nursery and Preschool have been learning more about our solar system and planets, as part of the organisation’s Growing Scientists programme.

The children were part of a discussion on the difference in colour and size of the planets in the solar system, and what they might find on each one. They subsequently took part in an activity involving various resources to create their own planet models.

“The children were very excited to learn more about our solar system,” said Nursery Manager Scott Humphrey. “The discussion inevitably led to a further talk on aliens and how they would get to Earth via their spaceships, as well what noises they might make.”

The Growing Scientists programme aims to help children identify scientific activities that occur in their everyday lives.
